PVC Edgebanding

Is an extruded or calendared thermoplastic edgebanding made of Poly Vinyl Chloride, a petroleum/natural gas by-product.

Extruded PVC is manufactured to exact widths while calendared PVC is manufactured in wide logs and slit to size. Each process has advantages and disadvantages depending on the desired application.

A primer is an essential back surface etching treatment used on all PVC products to insure a good bond with standard hot melt adhesives. Primer can be omitted if the intended use is not for edgebanding use, i.e.. slot wall inserts or color coded filing tabs.

All printed surfaces as well as most solid colors are top coated with a UV cured resin for abrasion and solvent protection.

PVC is mainly used for straight-line and contour automatic edgebanding applications. PVC is not recommended for soft form applications.

Custom Program

Custom Orders denoted by * in our Cross Reference Guide require a minimum order:

  • Thickness' from .016" to .040" - 12,000 LnFt.
  • Thickness' from 2mm to 3mm - 5,000 LnFt.

Custom Color Matching

In addition to our vast stock program, OLON will expertly custom match virtually any color or woodgrain and many patterns. Minimum order quantities are the same as for custom orders.
