Olon is proud to have served the furniture and cabinet making industries for over 25 years. Our company has grown in that time, evolving to become one of North America's leading single-source manufacturers of quality component and custom solutions. The entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering commitment to our customers that was the cornerstone of our business in 1981 remains the foundation of everything we do today. The company was founded by Ed Almeida in 1981...under the name Poly Plast Sales. Poly Plast supplied PVC, polyester and wood veneer edgebanding to customers in Southern Ontario. In 1983,- the operation had expanded its focus on edgebanding. Richard Locke joined as a partner and Poly Plast Inc. was formed.
Between 1985 - 87...- the company began to expand its product offering, manufacturing both profile wrapped moldings and miter fold drawer systems.
In 1989...- Laminating Technology Inc. in Northbrook, IL. was acquired. A producer of thermo fused decorative laminates, LTI was a synergistic addition to the Poly Plast product offering.
In 1995...- Poly Plast's Canadian administrative and manufacturing headquarters were moved from Brampton to Georgetown, Ontario.
In 1998...- Riverside Labs in Geneva, IL was acquired. The company specialized in decorative paper saturation and was a major supplier to Laminating Technology.

The acquisitions and expansion continued between 1998 and 2004.- Eurodrawer Inc. (drawer components) and Woodcraft Industries (profile wrapping) were acquired.
